Isya has a pet now. She pets it, cares for it, takes it along her evening walks, plays with it and has a leash for it. She calls it 'batu', which is appropriately named. The pet is a 'batu'. A small cement break the size of her small palm.
Yesterday, I came home from work and she excitedly asked me to walk with her and her 'batu'. So she dragged it along with the leash and talked to it about all the things that she saw. About the flock of birds, the neighbour's crying baby and the lost kitten.
And I played along.
"Mummy, dukung Isya please?"
"You said you want to walk...why now want to dukung?"
"Bukan Isya...batu ni...dia penat"
Ok. So I had to carry her home...along with her beloved pet.
This morning, as Opi was waving me goodbye, he sat outside and started to swing 'batu' around. I gasped and said "Jgnlah..nanti batu pening...."
I guess 'batu' has established itself as part of the family.
