Went to Royale yesterday...after one day of pigging on sate, ayam masak merah, drummets, cake...courtesy of Abah's birthday.
Saw a huge sign that said "2 for $10.00"...what luck! So quickly grabbed two trackbottoms for Isya..one was grey and the other was light brown.
At the counter, the cashier punched the items separately. Thinking it was an oversight, I softly said...
"'scuse me..those are under 2 for $10..."
"No..2 for $10 if you take two of the same items"
"What..?? Who would want two of exactly the same items?"
"You must be confused...."
And that pushed my temper button..I went on and on about deceitful advertising..in front of all those Sunday shoppers. Husband quickly retreated far..far away......
I told them to put down the signboard. They refused.
In the end I told them (with much arrogance because I was so upset) that I don't need to waste my time with such stupid people.....
I'm still upset!

why oh why...?
I have all the reasons to skive off work. Yes..all the legitimate reasons.
I've tendered my resignation. I've handed over all my work. I practically have nothing else to do...but stare blindly into my notebook.
The children are having their school holidays and my 8-year old nephew, Aboy is at home..my home..keeping Opi and Isya company. Aboy loves to water the plants and he was spraying water to the rumput mutiara, my water lilies, the outside garden...and 'accidently' sprayed to himself and Opi..and they were laughing so hard...and I had to go to work...dammit!
I wish I can be there as well...I've so many things to do with them. Maybe I call in 'sick' tomorrow...maybe I 'have something on at home' at 4pm today...
I need to skive off.....like now....

London Bridge
My younger sister, Dodik is going to London tomorrow...for three weeks. She applied for a job in Singapore, aced it and she had only been there for two weeks. Now...she's leaving for London...
I'm gonna miss her.
Whatever it is...she's still my younger sister, you see. Younger..that means, I need to be there in case she gets lost. I have to tell her which tube to take..which stop to go down. She'll be needing my advise on what food to eat. Does she know that the water there is 'hard'?
She travels more than me...but that doesn't matter. She'll be alone there...how will she cope?
Or how will I cope....?

The "Joyah" in me..........
Last night we went to a neighbour's house for a Kenduri. Not just a neighbour..but THE neighbour. You see, they have this greenest golf grass in the lawn, the freshest-looking blooms and and this hotel-like decor (from whenever I get to peep inside their house when we drive by..).
So, obviously I was keen to go. Well...the doa selamat is one thing but the Joyah in me was stronger. Women have this thing..no matter how you try to deny it, we like to see what others have..then compare..then fell in great depression...Its self-inflicted sado-masochism.
And off we went..yup, the whole lot of us..Husband, Opi and Isya..all went.
Ok..so the house is nice..in fact very nice. Full plaster ceiling, extended kitchen...and oooo....solid nyatoh cabinet. The walls are painted canary yellow, adorned with made-to-match curtains. And there I was...sitting quietly with Isya..trying so hard to put on this nonchalant look. That was one huge pain, tugging my heart...
Its amazing what we, women allow ourselves to go through. A simple gesture like a Kenduri invitation can lead us into deep self evaluation, reflection and..like I said, depression. Why?
I'm living in a simple single-storey semi-d. I have a complete family.A good well paying job...maybe I should learn to be thankful.
No...I MUST be thankful...Alhamdulillah........

On a Jetplane.....
I just came back from KLCC...looking for things to buy Opi and Isya for their very first trip to 'negeri org putih...tempat sejuk..'. Hoping to get them some cheap but warm socks/gloves. But KLCC is just not the place..everything too pricey. Hmm...gotta go to Ampang Point and go to Royale for some bargains.
Then Husband called....
"I just got the full amount to pay for the trip"
"How much?"
"$670...just for the airport tax"
"#$@*%!!!!!"
I guess even Royale is too expensive now......

Peter and Jane....anyone..?
On Tuesday night, my son Opi came home jumping..as usual.
Then quickly Husband asked him...
Husband : "Exams results dah dapat?"
Opi stopped short on his tracks.
Husband : "Mana?"
Opi quietly produced his results...I stared at the scene from far. yet I could still see a lot of Ds and Es. Alamak!!
Dinner and the whole night were practically filled with a lot of "why this" and "why that"...we just couldn't comprehend why Opi got such low marks.
Afterwards..when everybody went to sleep, I went through his exams papers once again...
Mak ooi! Crazy apa???
The maths papers got a lot of lengthy questions...the poor kid had to be able to read like a pro if he wants to answer those. The Bahasa papers showed four pictures of similar looking, badly drawn pictures...how on earth would a child know which one is 'good morning, mother" against "thank you, Ms Devi"...
Why oh why...?
Am I alone?
