Maybe its my 'rambut kuning'....

This is a story about a lady in my workplace.

She’s like Barbie doll reincarnation. Long, straight, highlighted hair, which she keeps it loose all the time; makes it very ‘useful’ when she flips it provocatively or tucks behind her ears demurely. It actually depends on which situation she’s in. And she dresses the part; immaculate dresses albeit sexy ones. Her nails are always colored deep red and she wears open heels to show-off her pedicures.

In the truest sense of being, she attracts the male employees like moths to fire.

She and I are in the same department and she has never talked to me. Much less looked at my direction. Even if we’re seated next to each other in a meeting, she’ll look away. There were occasions when I came and sat at her table during lunchtime, she quickly finished up and left.

I even told Husband about her.

I concluded that she feels too high and mighty to talk to me. And at 32 years old – I stopped bothering about this got-to-be-with-the-in-group shit.

Imagine my surprise when all the sudden, she came up to me and merrily told me about her lunch experience. She must’ve knocked her pretty head with something, I thought.

I just stared at her throughout her chattering. The as she was walking off, she asked “Hey..heard you’re married with two kids? I really thought you’re…like…y’know…not married….you should wear your wedding ring all the time..y’know..then people don’t get the wrong idea….” and walked off. I didn’t even get the chance to tell her that I can’t fit my wedding ring anymore. I practically didn’t know what to say.

So that was it? 

Single vs. Married.

Why is it that female species so insecure?
 But quite frankly….her comments made my day. At 20kgs overweight…she still thinks of me a competition….muahahahahaha!
