A Week before Raya

It'll be Raya very soon...dam...dam..dumm...bunyi mercun. God! I've been having this tune replaying itself in my brains ever since Pona mentioned it.

Opi and Isya's outfits are all bought and tested over and over again. This year I shopped at Reject Shop - Ampang Point for their attire...as compared to previous years, where it would always be Baby Guess, OshKosh, Esprit, Mothercare et al. I'm quite proud to say that I managed to get 3 dresses and 3 t'shirts for less than $100! This year I spent less than $300 for their baju raya and shoes raya...a real saver compared to my average of $1500 in the previous years. What's up with the brand anyway? I guess I better save now, cause the kids will demand some brand names when 'peer pressure' starts playing a role. So for the meantime, it shall be Factory Outlet and Reject Shop.

Well...the only indulgence was Isya's Kickers shoes. Even Opi's LA Gear is much cheaper than her shoes. We went to Lot10 to get Opi's Nike. But with over $250 pricetags...enough said.

Yesterday I celebrated in triumph as I managed to secure the last stack of the new $5 polymer notes in BCB Cyberjaya. The teller told me "Kak..duit plastik ni tak bolek lipat ok. Nanti dia tak boleh tegak balik". Uh huh... "Does that mean I've to find a big angpow packets?" I asked her...only to realise how stupid my question was. Who cares? Like other people gonna handle those notes with such meticulous care...

Husband casually mentioned to me that he doesn't have his baju raya just yet. "Same here" I replied. "Err... I actually want baju raya" He said. "Ooo...awat tak cakap yang you nak...?". Ok, it'll be another trip to Ampang Point then this weekend. Maybe I can have my eyebrow threaded then. Ooo....nice, trimmed eyebrows for Raya is like a total must.

For this Raya, I've chosen (really) dark brown colour for my hair. No more bleached blonde looks for me. Erm..let see how long this last. I've never had my original colour eversince I left Seri Puteri...ooo..what nightmares. But that's a different topic altogether.

Ok now, what else to prepare for Raya? I've changed my duit raya, bought all the clothes and shoes for Opi and Isya, will buy some new shirts for Husband this weekend, ordered my raya cookies, coloured my hair...

Dam...dam...dumm....
