Finally – Jim Bob moved to his house in Salak Tinggi. And Mak moved temporarily to Bukit Mahkota. All in one Saturday, two lorries, one Pajero and a few cramped cars. When the lorry that carried Mak’s stuff came, all I could see was her plants. She brought all her prized orchids and anthuriums. Those potted plants took up half of the three-tonne lorry!
Our mission – fix the bed. We went from one room and bed to another. Then we came to the last room, the room where Abah will sleep. Suddenly, Bang Li stopped short. I looked at him and noticed that he was staring at the corner of the room. There they were…2 (scary-looking) old, worn-out canes. The rotan, which Abah will whack the boys when they were ‘not behaving’. Out of the blue, both of us started laughing. “Dia simpan lagi benda ni…”
After settling the important ones, we went over to Jim Bob’s house. Since, most of the big matters were settled, we didn’t do much. Over teh tarik, Jim Bob took out a folder which the previous tenant apparently hid over the ceiling. The file contains – reasons why he should marry another person. He had about four scribbled lists and a couple of rejected/wrongly-written (?) marriage forms.
Get this, the man wanted to marry another one because the current wife refused to work nearer to their house (huh?). He also listed petty reasons like the wife enjoys having makeup on, likes to shop and refuse to have any more children. She already has three, mind you. He also stated that he has ‘more than enough’ to support two wives. His salary slip showed a monthly salary of half mine. Geez! I can’t even do a proper mind-blowing shopping with mine!
So Abah keeps his sacred rotan and an unknown guy keeps (hides) his alter-ego.
But again, to each - his own, so who am I to say?

Wanna get married for those stupid reasons? *sigh* God, don't let it happen to me and my family... Amin.

pancaindera in mingguan malaysia 8 days ago told of the dilemma of a man who wanted to take a second wife, somehow has the first wife's permission, can't afford to support both wives, but the prospective second wife is still pestering him to marry her and is desolate because no one understands him.

mingguan malaysia is not a newspaper, I'd categorised it as a comic...
